The beautiful temple is expected to be completed in about two years.
Sri Rupa Seva Kunj is connected with the name of Srila Rupa Goswami. As is well known, the Deity worshiped by Srila Rupa Goswami was Sri Govindadev. Additionally, our ashram is located very close to the beautiful Govinda-kunda. Needless to say, we had no doubts about whose temple should be at the center of our ashram.
The temple's architecture incorporates the traditions of Jaipur and Vrindavan: airy arches, stone lattices, domed turrets, columns, bas-reliefs, wall paintings, and stained glass windows – all designed to become another vivid manifestation of the original spiritual beauty.
The main entrance of the temple faces Govardhan, with the altar situated to the east and crowned by five soaring domes. The design includes an arched gallery that encircles the temple along its outer contour, allowing for a circumambulation of the temple beneath the intricate arches. On the second floor of the temple's exterior, there is a terrace with viewing platforms, turrets, and pavilions, providing a splendid view of beautiful Govardhan and the nearby kunja.
Since our ashram is an educational project, the temple will also house a large library and a media center with a studio for audio and video production. Some of the books have already been digitized and are available in our Vedarama online library.
